Pastels that are good enough to eat. Dulux Authentic Origins range includes colours such as Clouded Sky, Plum Preserve, Summer Coulis, Leafy Cottage, Birds Egg, Pink Bunting, Moss Blanket, Butter Dish.
The pastel trend has flooded the pages of our magazines again. Pastels and sugary shades are back in style. Combine them in a rainbow of hues for grown up schemes that can be used all over the house and no longer are they thought of as colours just to be used in children's bedrooms.
Pastel Interiors are right on trend!
The outside temperatures aren’t telling me so but I’ve got the itch that I feel a bit of de- cluttering is in order and a little revamp (I can hear my husband sighing already!!) By this I mean I have stowed away the reindeer hide - stored correctly I might add as they shed hair faster than a moulting hound and am replacing my Melin Tregwynt wool cushions for something lighter possibly a pastel velvet cushion as I can't quite get rid of the cosy textures no matter what time of year it is!
Now as a rule I wouldn't describe myself as a pastel girl but I am most definitely drawn to elements of the pastel kind. I am currently coveting a pale pink cashmere jumper form Boden (as i'm not quite ready to de robe just yet!) Likewise the White Company catalogue dropped through the door yesterday and their Lime & Bay candle has also been added to the wish list!
My ethos is generally to keep to a similar colour palette throughout a fairly open plan space. This was a mindful decision when we moved in as I get so bored quickly that I like to move things around. Honestly just by moving pictures, cushions and small chairs from room to room you not only feel like you've revamped the space for nothing but you also appreciate the items you've already got all over again. So in this vain I shall be digging out a few pastel velvet cushions that have been put away and playing with my space. In particular I feel our snug needs much attention! Its where the kiddies watch TV, play and where I work (its a small room that works hard!). It was repapered at the end of last year with a faux brick wallpaper but really needs a splash of colour and a gallery wall. I'm taking the bull by the horns and embracing a mariad of colour, some pastel and some slightly stronger colours too. I shall post an update for you once my work is complete.
Meanwhile these gentle tones of candy pink, minty green, lemon sherbet and powder blue are perfect for creating a calm and restful mood. Are you in the market for a pastel update?
